North Node in Astrology: Signs and Houses
The North Node, also known as the Dragon’s Head, is not a planet but a sensitive point in the natal chart. It marks where the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic, moving backwards through the zodiac once every 18.6 years. In north node astrology, this point represents a direction for growth—qualities we are learning to develop, rather than a fixed destiny. According to Llewellyn George, the North Node in a house or sign tends to bring honors, credit, and high position through one’s own industry and ability. It shows where we can find fulfillment by stepping out of familiar patterns. To read it, look at its sign, house, and aspects; these reveal the area of life and the approach that supports your evolution. The South Node, opposite, points to comfort zones we may outgrow.
