New moon in Gemini 2028: what it is about

According to Vronsky, when the Moon transits Gemini, people become more contactable, free, and mobile. There is a growing need to receive and share information, exchange ideas, and know what others are doing. Imagination and quick thinking are enhanced, but attention may scatter across many tasks at once, leading to a tendency to start everything at once. Correspondence and phone calls increase, but so do misdialed numbers and forgotten appointments. Vronsky notes that children become restless and distracted, often late. Robert Hand adds that the transiting Moon’s effects are brief, lasting a couple of hours when aspecting planets, but a new moon can extend influence for one to four weeks.

The aspects and the sky on the day

At the new moon, the Sun and Moon are together in Gemini. Neptune in Aries forms a sextile to this conjunction. Mercury, Venus, and Uranus are also in Gemini, with Mercury and Venus retrograde. Mars and Saturn are in Taurus, Jupiter in Virgo, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius (retrograde). The retrograde backdrop includes Mercury (retrograde from May 21 to June 14) and Venus (retrograde from May 10 to June 22). The Moon waxes from May 24 to June 7, with the first quarter on May 31 in Virgo and the full moon on June 7 in Sagittarius.

What it may mean inside

This new Moon in Gemini invites a moment of inner curiosity. The mind is active, seeking connections and stories. It may feel like a fresh start for how you think, communicate, or learn. The sextile from Neptune in Aries adds a gentle, dreamy quality — a sense that ideas can flow without force. It is a time to notice what questions arise naturally, without needing immediate answers. The retrograde Mercury and Venus suggest a slower, more reflective inner dialogue, revisiting old thoughts or conversations with a new perspective.
